I was gifted the name Niseema when I was 19 years old, a time when I was deeply in search of myself and where I fit in the world. When I received my name, I was told that it meant "One with Unbound Love" and something shifted inside of me.

Since that moment, I've been doing my best to embody that intention. Feeling my heart sing while studying and teaching all things relationship and sensuality, I knew I found my place in the world. I mean, what better way to embody love than to honour myself, what brings me pleasure and share those learnings with you!

Over the course of my life, I've had many rich experiences that have brought me to where I am today. I've been studying and teaching various areas of sexuality for close to 15 years, as I moved further into my learning, my focus expanded into relationships and the mind-body connection. More recently, my learning has deepened again, into the world of trauma and its effects on the nervous system, relationships, sensuality, and how it shows up somatically (the mind-body connection).

I also have lived experience with trauma, both physical and emotional, which has created a deeply felt understanding (and interest) in helping others overcome its effects on our lives- Including nervous system disregulation, dissociation, trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and most recently (within the past 2.5 years) traumatic brain injury. Having a deep understanding of how all of these things impact our lives, relationships- and most importantly, connection to self; is something that I confidently and compassionately bring to the therapeutic table.

Beyond all of that, I am human. I live in this world as a somewhat hetero cis-woman. I've held the hand of someone while they took their last breaths, I have far more stretch marks than I'm comfortable with and I maintain body positivity even when it feels impossible to apply to myself some days. I love to laugh and could probably afford to do it more often. Hiking in the forest with my dog is a favourite way to spend my time and when it's warm enough, swimming in the many abundant lakes on the Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland.

I look forward to hearing your story and walking with you through the next parts of your journey.

Warmly,

Niseema
