Wherever you go, there you are.
I believe in using a holistic approach in my practice, because one piece does not define the whole- Everything is connected in one way or another. As a trauma informed practitioner, my intention is in helping you find a safe home in your body again (or for the first time). Having a healthy nervous system is not about being “happy” or grounded all of the time, it’s more about being flexible and able to experience the whole spectrum of emotional experiences without getting stuck in any one state for an extended period of time.
I mainly use techniques from Gestalt Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, these modalities are rooted in mindfulness and experiential practice with a trauma informed lens. Bridging the body mind connection is how I include your nervous system in our work together, because it has so much to say and can so often be ignored or misunderstood.
Is counselling for you?
Counselling might be for you if you are ready to receive support and begin the process of exploring areas within yourself that continue to get in the way of your happiness, sense of peace and fulfilment in any or all areas of your life.
The main difference between coaching and counselling, is the focus and intention.
Counselling is focused on where you are in the present moment and what happened in the past that continues to impact your life in less than desirable ways. The main intention behind counselling is to create a safe space for you to process experiences that have happened to you in your life, so you can feel supported as you move through the difficult parts.
